CHALLENGE
Technologies today are undeniably complex, and feature deep abstraction of tasks behind learned interfaces. Most of the contemporary digital interactions we see today take users out of their physical context, and instead force them into the confines of their digital space. We propose a deeper integration of our digital and physical spaces that spans across devices and environments. Instead of forcing the user to engage in our digital context, we bring the digital out and into the physical environment. Using digital services no longer means interacting with discrete devices, but doing so with a pervasive network of screens and sensors.

RESULTS
Our team achieved a remarkable feat by winning the sole Yellow Pencil from over 100 entries in the Digital Design Category. Our design proposal received high praise from the judges and a Microsoft representative, who lauded it for its visionary 'blue sky' imagination. They recognized how our design seamlessly integrates future technological advancements into everyday life, highlighting its innovative and forward-thinking approach.

August 2012
Specialmoves worked with Microsoft to set the Digital Design category this year.

"This forward thinking entry by a group of Canadian students was the only one in the category to win a coveted student award. We thought we'd pick their brains to see what went into creating this outstanding work.
